Description:

This code is a very simplistic DirectFB client for the Music Player Daemon (MPD - www.musicpd.org) server.

The idea is to make the console of my jukebox look like a more traditional audio component, by removing the fact that it is really linux under the hood. This combined with a remote control (through DirectFB's lirc support), gives very basic control over mpd.

Change Log:

  • 0.1.1: Added support for lirc buttons; initially to allow streams to be loaded into mpd as 'hot keys'. Configure through the file {prefix}/share/dfbmp/config

  • 0.1.0: Initial release

Caveats:

The control of playlists etc needs to be done through a more feature rich client - see www.musicpd.org for more information on the clients available - phpMp is what I'm using.

Tested on debian woody on an EPIA-M system.
